It’s always fun shopping for kiddies but it’s especially magical at Christmas time. I’m not sure if it’s the holiday hype or thinking about their sweet and innocent reaction to a new toy you’ll be presenting them with. I’ve rounded up my toddler gift guide below, for ages approximately 1 to 3 years, that have either been hits with my nieces and nephews, my baby, my friends’ babies, or it’s just a cool toy or accessory I’ve discovered along the way that I want to share.
- Mr. Food Face Plate – $16.50 CAD
If this fun, interactive plate doesn’t make your baby eat their peas I don’t know what will.
2. EZPZ Happy Mat – $29.99 CAD
So practical for the tot that tries to flip their plate or bowl while mumma isn’t looking. This bad boy isn’t going anywhere because it suctions to surfaces. This makes for a happy, clean,
peaceful eating experience.
3. Lifefactory Glass Water Bottle – 30 ounce – $31.32 CAD
I’m really picky and paranoid about plastic tasting things so this glass bottle is the answer. The bottle, cap, and sleeve are BPA/BPS free with no phthalates, PVC, or polycarbonates.
Toys: (I’m obsessed with Hape and Battat…just fyi.)
Shop Smart Tip: For toys, I pretty much only shop at Mastermind Toys or Indigo because of the service, quality in products, and free gift wrapping! If I need to be budget conscious I go to Marshalls, HomeSense, & Winners.
4. Geosafari Junior Kidnoculars – $27.27 CAD
Are these not so cute? The only binoculars designed specifically for kids. They’re focus-free with 2x the magnification. Great gift if you know a child who loves to explore the outdoors.
5. Battat Take-Apart Crane Truck – $29.95 CAD
Kids will love this battery-powered drill and will want to take it apart and put it back together over and over.
6. Battat Bouncer Bee – $29.95 CAD
Lots of fun to be had on this little bumble bouncer. It also looks cute as décor in the playroom.
7. Hape Walk-a-Long Puppy – $29.99 CAD
This puppy is so cute and will follow wherever your tot leads him! He walks while wagging his little tail and he can also sit on his hind legs. It’s made of natural wood and water-based paint.
8. LeapFrog My Own LeapTop – $33 CAD
Learn the alphabet, send and receive emails like mum and dad, sing songs, and more!
9. I Love My Blank – Handmade Stuffed Animals – $33-45 CAD
My girlfriend, Evella, started her own business making the cutest stuffed animals! All animals come in a little storage bag with a tag outlining the characteristics of the animal you purchased. The quality and craftsmanship of these handmade stuffed animals are top-notch. They are unique and would make the perfect gift for a toddler who loves imaginative play.
I Love My Blank also takes custom orders which is so awesome and convenient being right in Calgary. Evella recently designed a custom Christmas gift for a friend’s new baby and I can’t wait to surprise her with it. She sketched out the shape of the animal and sent it to me for review, we selected the perfect felt colours together, and she hand embroidered the baby’s name onto the animal giving it that extra personalized touch. Evella really took the time to make my vision come to life. Check out her shop!!
10. Nici Wonderland Veterinarian Doll Set – $54.95
I got this doll set for my sweet little niece because she loves animals! It’s so adorable and really encourages imaginative play. It’s made out of soft plush fabrics making it cuddly to play with.
11. Plasmacar Exclusive – $69.95 CAD
This car is such a hit with all my nieces and nephews, every child is bound to love it. Hop on, put your feet up and away you go. No batteries or pedals needed.
12. Zany Zoo Activity Cube – $99.95
This activity cube is durable, very well made, and will keep your baby or toddler entertained.
13. Hape Wonder Walker – $119.95 CAD
Great for balancing and walking, or even turn it into a wagon and grocery cart! Made with maple wood and non-toxic water-based paints.
14. SoftZone 7 Piece Block Set – $159.99 CAD
These are awesome for stacking, climbing, fort building, carrying around, and balancing on. After a fun Gymboree playdate where I couldn’t tear Luke away from these…of course they ended up on his Christmas list. Can’t wait until they arrive.
15. Giraffes Can’t Dance – $6.51 CAD
Such an inspirational little book that teaches kids it’s ok to be different.
16. B is for Bear – $12.51 CAD
The best touch and feel book while learning the alphabet.
17. Indestructible Baby Book Set – $38.51 CAD
Luke got one of these books for his birthday and it’s awesome! They can’t be chewed or ripped and they’re printed on non-toxic paper.
Clothes & Accessories:
18. The Flash Lightning Bolt Embroidered Shoe Wings – $13.49 CAD
Are these not the cutest accessory to add to your tots high tops? They would so love them…and they might run
away from you faster too 😉
19. Wild Roots & Co. – Slouchy Beanies – $18-20 CAD
This is my friend Jordana’s shop who I posted about on my IG account this week. She makes the cuuuuutest beanies for babes (among other items). It’s hard to pick a pattern so you might just end up ordering more than one. She also takes customs orders. Again, so convenient for the mum who can’t sew…and she is so flexible and fun to work with. Check her out!!
20. Toddler Roots Salt & Pepper Sweatpants – $30 CAD
Roots is such a classic brand, you can’t go wrong with the quality. So comfy for a toddler to roll around and play in.
