Last week, our little family went to take maternity pictures in Bridgeland with our amazing photographer – Breanne Unger Photography. Originally we were going to head out to the mountains or the Bragg Creek area on the weekend but with the nice warm weather in May we thought we would push it up to a week night while the cherry blossom trees were still in bloom. We got so lucky; we had a perfect evening of 28 degree weather and the prettiest light shining down on us. Here are a few of our Calgary maternity photos from our shoot (and what we wore since some people are interested). 🙂
I’m proud to report that none of us had to purchase any new clothes in the making of this shoot! We all worked with what we have because…it’s budget city over at our house these days.
And yes, we are all matching in blue – my fault. But I actually think it works! Like my photographer said, “when you’re all in different shades of the same colour you don’t end up looking like you’re matching”.
Her: Seraphine Navy Knot Front Maternity Maxi Dress (similar) – my sister gave me this beautiful dress after her last pregnancy. It was so comfortable to wear while on the grass and while chasing Luke and remaining cool. // my lace up flat sandals are Dina Perre Milano that I bought on vacation in Athens, Greece 10 years ago. I’ve probably only ever worn them three times…
Little Him: Old Navy Shoes // Gap Denim (similar but Luke’s are in a lighter wash and cuff at the bottom with a plaid print if I so choose) // Jacadi Polo Shirt Onesie (very similar) – Luke’s jeans and polo shirt were purchased a few seasons ago that’s why they can’t be found but I’ve tried to link to similar options.
Breanne did such a wonderful job capturing us, especially when we have a busy toddler on the run. She really gave us a big variety to pick from – candid, up-close, scenic, you name it! I will treasure these photos forever. And the ones of just Luke and I, with him as my only child for now, make me sob. (Hormones.) Can’t wait until he has a little brother to run around with.
If you are thinking about getting family pictures done my suggestion is JUST DO IT! They’re not little forever…
And if you want a great photographer, Breanne is awesome!!! I’ve linked to her site again here.
